The Edmonton Eskimos were very busy on Monday afternoon, a day before CFL free agency begins. The team signed five players to contract extensions.
Fullback Calvin McCarty and defensive back Forrest Hightower have signed a one-year extension through the 2019 season.
Receiver Kenny Stafford and offensive lineman Colin Kelly have both signed a two-year contract extension through to the 2020.
Long-snapper Ryan King has agreed to a three-year extension, taking him through to the end of the 2021 season.

McCarty will return for a 13th season in green and gold and is currently the longest-serving member of the Eskimos. He began his CFL career back in the 2007 season. He played all 18 games last season, recording 114 combined yards.
King played in all 18 games last season, recording four special teams tackles and will play in his eighth season with the Eskimos.
Stafford started in 17 games last season and established a career-high for receiving yards with 781 and scored two touchdowns. He will enter his seventh season and fourth with the Eskimos.
Hightower and Kelly will enter their third seasons with the Eskimos. Hightower played 11 games last season, recording 26 defensive tackles and three interceptions. Kelly started all 18 games at right tackle last season.
CFL free agency opens on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Edmonton time.
