Aaron Wan-Bissaka revealed as boyhood Man Utd fan as £55m transfer target is pictured wearing shirt in family portraitJune 25, 2019
AARON WAN-BISSAKA is closing in on a move to Manchester United, the team he supported as a boy.
The 21-year-old full back who broke into the Crystal Palace side last year will finally get to wear the famous red shirt he wore as a kid growing up in South London.
Wan-Bissaka is set for an Old Trafford medical when he flies back from England’s disappointing Euro Under-21 Championship campaign.
The deal makes him the most expensive full-back ever in British football.
And his old manager Colin Omogbehin who founded South London club Junior Elite, where it all began for the highly-rated defender reckons he is a perfect fit for United.
Omogbehin said: “I look at Manchester United who are on the up.
“They have a youngish squad and he’d fit into the way they want to play.
“In Ole Gunnar Solskjaer there is a good young boss who has a history of dealing with young players.
“When Ole retired from playing he worked with United’s younger squads, so will know how to bring through players of Aaron’s type.
“That would be perfect for him. He’d play every week — or certainly get a lot of games to keep developing.”
