Man reveals his ‘weird’ bed confession on Twitter – people are not impressedMarch 26, 2019
Every couple has their own unique way of sharing a bed.
But when Steve O’Rourke explained his “weird” bed confession online, people were not pleased.
Taking to Twitter, the Irishman explained the “first one in chooses” and revealed he and his partner even swap pillows and bedside books.
He wrote: “We were just chatting in work and apparently it’s weird that Amy and I don’t sleep on the same side of the bed every night.
“Some nights I like to sleep by the window, some nights by the door. It’s not really that unusual, is it?”
“It’s not really that unusual, is it?”
After sharing the post last week, it secured more than 600 retweets and 3,400 likes.
Following the tweet, Steve was shocked to learn that it actually is quite unusual.
One person wrote: “You have a side of the bed, and that’s your side of the bed, and they have theirs.
“And that’s that. It’s a bit like saying, ‘I think I’ll go sleep in the neighbours house tonight’.”
Another commented: “What level of crazy is this? I like to think I’ve previously been ‘adventurous’ in the bedroom but never have I even attempted weirdness on this level.”
A third chimed in: “I am so scared. First Brexit, now this.”
Steve went on to explain the following points when it came to making his decision.
He wrote: “Feel like I need to point out the following. 1. First one in chooses. 2. We’ve never disagreed over it. 3. We move pillows and books as we move. 4. We don’t change every single night. 5. Neither of us are aliens.”
But when the dad suggested others should try it, Twitter was in meltdown once again.
Others explained they had “their side” of the bed even when on holiday.
However, some Twitter users agreed with Steve.
One wrote: “Not weird to me. My partner and I have done this for 20 years. I think it’s weird to be territorial over a piece of furniture.”
While another confessed: “My wife and I switch sides every night. Not weird at all.”
