CoppaFeel! founder Kris Hallenga on how her collaboration with Vans is a dream come true – The SunOctober 8, 2019
IT has been a whirlwind start to Breast Cancer Awareness Month for me and for CoppaFeel! Over the last few days we have unleashed an exciting collaboration and it’s a huge relief I am finally allowed to talk about it.
We have teamed up with Vans, the global skate apparel company – and have produced CoppaFeel! shoes, clothing and accessories in aid of us. It has been an absolute dream come true to make this happen.
Almost two years ago, I sent off a very long email to a person who worked for the Vans global team in America.
I didn’t know where it would lead, it usually doesn’t get me anywhere but that doesn’t put me off trying.
I got a reply and the next moment I found myself on a conference call with lots of people all deliberating over partnerships with CoppaFeel!
Fast-forward 24 months and we’re now selling all the items WORLDWIDE, with at least £162,000 being donated to us. To say I’m chuffed would be an understatement.
Back in June I got the opportunity to fly to LA to meet the team behind it all and film videos for the website and launch.
It was very surreal seeing the shoes for the first time and getting to wear clothes that were about to be available to everyone around the world.
Vans have always been a brand I love and with their huge reach we can get our message out faster and to so many more people.
One shoe design I particularly like says on them, “You Got This” – see pic above – a nice little mantra I find pretty useful.
