You can RENT a Chanel bikini Kim Kardashian loves – but shoppers say it’s ‘disgusting’April 8, 2019
You can now rent out a Chanel bikini that Kim Kardashian is a big fan of.
The vintage number is being offered up by website El Cycer.
While this allows the item to be worn by more people, many fashion fans aren’t keen on the idea.
Since the news hit social media, some commented that renting swimwear is “disgusting”.
Kim Kardashian caused a stir when she posed in a Chanel bikini last year.
A picture of the reality TV star in the vintage swimwear racked up more than four million likes on Instagram.
Many commented that the style icon looked “hot”, with others wishing they could replicate the look.
As the revealing two-piece isn’t available in the French designer store, tracking one down is rather tricky.
So to allow the most people to try it on, a company is deciding to rent it out.
El Cycer is advertising the barely-there bikini online.
It insists the Spring 1996 Runway Logo Bikini as being in “excellent” condition.
The product description adds: “Bikini modelled by Stella Tenant in the spring 1996 runway show by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.
“This iconic style features Chanel’s embroidered logos on the top and bottoms.”
The vintage website encourages fashion fans to enquire about renting the product.
They haven’t listed a guide price on the website.
While some may be tempted to borrow the vintage bikini for a day or two, others think it’s a bad idea.
One shopper said: “Wtf is wrong with the world.”
Another remarked: “You can ‘rent’ a bikini? ‘Rent’! Oh yuck.”
A third asked: “Is it washed between rentals?”
Others simply branded the rental swimwear concept as “disgusting” and “gross”.
